The app uses the microphone on your smartphone or tablet to measure noise levels in decibels (dB). However, the decibel value measured by the app may vary compared to an actual Sound Pressure Level Meter (SPL Meter).

It is important to note that the decibel meter or soundmeter is not as precise as an actual SPL meter, noise level meter, or decibel meter due to most device microphones being aligned to human voice. To fix this, it is recommended to use an actual SPL meter to adjust the decibel error as close as possible before using the app. If you do not own an actual SPL meter, you can adjust the reading value to 20-30dB in a quiet place where sound cannot be heard.

The app features real-time updates on a chart graph, displays minimum (Min), maximum (Max), and average (Avg) decibel values in the recording session, and displays measuring time. A reset button is provided in case you need to reset the measuring, and play and pause buttons are also available. The app can be used for noise tests or sound tests.

The app provides a list of decibel levels for various sounds, ranging from gunshots at 140dB to breathing at 10dB.
