OnStar Safety & Security Members receive the app as part of their plan, and non-GM vehicle owners can try it for up to 3 months for free, after which it is only $15 a month. The app can be shared with up to 7 family members at no additional cost. With features like mobile crash response, roadside assistance, and emergency services, the app provides peace of mind for families on the go.

The app's mobile crash response feature can detect a crash and alert an OnStar Advisor, even if the user or their family members can't ask for help. Roadside assistance provides help on the road, including battery charges, flat tire assistance, and fuel delivery. The emergency services feature provides access to an OnStar Emergency-Certified Advisor 24/7, and with Google Assistant enabled, users can get help with simple voice commands. Eligible customers who associate an approved payment method with their account and authorize recurring payments for their service plan within 30 days of activating their 1-month OnStar Guardian trial will receive 2 additional months of that plan at no additional charge. Advisors certified by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch provide emergency services, and location status services are designed to locate compatible smartphones with Location Services permission enabled. Roadside assistance is provided by Allstate Roadside Services for vehicles only, and towing services have additional fees. Up to seven additional individuals can be added to the “My Family” section within the app, and Google Assistant is a trademark of Google LLC.
