DaTuner is a chromatic tuner and metronome app for Android that is precise, responsive, and easy to use. It has a simple interface and is designed to be fast and efficient. The app can be used to tune a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, violin, banjo, cello, piano, ukulele, and mandolin. It features a bright, easy-to-read display, auto-sensitivity, and a screen lock that allows you to lock onto a specific note, even if it is extremely out of tune.
The app also has a filter lock that allows you to filter out everything outside a specific note's range. It has a reference frequency adjustment for orchestra tuning, which can be adjusted manually or by letting the app listen to another reference. The app has multiple instrument options, and more are expected to be added in the future. It also has a choice of colors for sharp/flat/in-tune and a sample rate range of 8kHz - 48kHz.
The PRO version of the app includes additional features such as a REAL strobe tuner display, transposition, temperaments, notation, pitch pipe with multiple harmonics, and an accelerated tuning algorithm. DaTuner is an app for everyone, from beginner to expert musician. It is easy to use and has a variety of adjustable features that make it the ultimate tuner for nearly all instruments.
DaTuner's display is easy to read, and the nearest note and octave are displayed in a giant, easy-to-read font. The frequency in hertz plus error in cents is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Sensitivity is auto-adjusted, but can also be adjusted by touch via a bar on the left-hand side of the screen. The speed/accuracy of the algorithm and the relative frequency can be adjusted via the configuration menu.
There is no "dead zone" with this tuner app, as is the case with many other apps. Instead, the whole display turns green when the incoming frequency is within a configurable range of the target frequency, and you can still see changes in pitch even in the "in-range" area. Both the "in-tune" range and the colors shown for sharp and flat can be configured. If you have any issues with the app, you can leave a comment with your rating, and the developers will fix it.
